He was born January 26, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of Martin and Margaret Yeager Giehrl. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alfred J. Giehrl. He is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Giehrl was a graduate of North Catholic High School, Pittsburgh, and Duquesne University. He was a parishioner of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Farmers Branch.
After his retirement from corporate human relations Mr. Giehrl was a financial analyst and served as a part-time defensive driving instructor for many years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. June 24 at Mary Immaculate Church with the Rev. Alfonse Nazzaro officiating. Interment will be at Saint Mary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, under the direction of Sperling Funeral Home. Arrangements in Texas are by Rhoton Funeral Home, Carrollton.
