

Mattie Pearl Walker, a gentle and compassionate soul, passed away on January 20, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on December 8, 1937, in Rhome, Mississippi. She was the beloved daughter of Thurmon Wiggs and Mattie Burchfield.
Mattie was a loving wife to Bobby Joe Walker, whom she married in 1954. Together, they shared 70 years of marriage before Bobby's passing in 2024. They were blessed with five children, creating a legacy of love and family.
She worked as a data entry clerk at Stewart Systems for 15 years before retiring. Mattie's personal interests were often centered around her family due to her caring nature. She enjoyed quilting, spending time with the ladies in her Sunday school class, cooking for her family, and cherishing moments with her loved ones.
She is survived by her sons, Donald (Nancy), Ronald (Netta), and Gary (Carolyn); her son-in-law, Scott; and her grandchildren, Brandon, Geina (Wade), Courtney (H.D.), Mandie (Derek), Briana (Hunter), Clarissa (Ally), Vanessa (Chad), Anna (Eric), along with numerous great-grandchildren including Hayden, Brylee, Sophie, Sydney, Joey, Xander, Everleigh, Cooper, Blake, Conner, Rayleigh, Oaklynn, Lane, Erica (Chris), Annea (Clinton), Karlan, Jayci, Jenna, and Allison.
Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; her parents, Thurmon and Mattie; her son, Jason; her daughter, Wanda Lynn; her grandson, Scott Hampton; two brothers and four sisters.
A visitation will be held on January 30, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 8382 Co Rd 128, Celina, TX 75009. The funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A committal service will take place at Restland Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory, at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
Pallbearers for the services will include Brandon Walker, H.D. Rodges, Wade Hightower, Hayden Rodges, Xander Chiles, Derek Gaudet, Chad Chiles, and Joey Bell.
Mattie Pearl Walker will be remembered for her loving and caring nature, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories for her family and friends.
