Born February 10, 1934, in East Vandergrift, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen John Ferencak and Barbara Kardos Ferencak and a brother to 10 siblings whom he loved very much. Known as a "Hurripooner" Tom gathered data during areal hurricane reconnaissance missions in the Caribbean. The missions provided advanced storm warnings to populated areas that lay in the path of these destructive storms.
After his service in the military he settled in Dallas, TX where he met and married Karen Edson of Kearney, Nebraska in 1968. He then dedicated himself to career at IBM as an Engineering Field Manager where he was employed for 36 years.
His greatest achievement in life was being a father to his two daughters Tanya Ferencak of Carrollton Texas and Kendra Ferencak (Jody Sanborn) of Fergus Falls, MN. He was a man of faith and was a member of the Mary Immaculate Parish of Farmers Branch, TX.
Survivors include brothers Robert Ferencak and Gerry Ferencak and sisters Sylvia Ferencak, Barbara Ann McCullough, Catherine Westendorf and Margaret Milito. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Blazitis, Mary Louise Wood and Stephanie Lombardi and brother Phillip Ferencak.
