

His mother Sue Sigwing and father,Billy Ray Matthews, Sr., were blessed with his birth on November 29, 1961 in indianapolis, indiana. Willard served 6 years in the United States Air Force and was a dedicated, hard workman man up until two day before he was called to our Lord.
He was an active member of the First Christian Church of Carrollton and enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones and reading the Bible.
Willard was always smiling. So much so that his smile filled many hearts with warmth. He was a shoulder for anyone who needed positive encouragement. He was a faithful servant to the Lord and will be in our hearts always and forever.
Survivors include his wife of over 36 years, Tammy Matthews ; his mother Sue Sigwind and her husband Jan; his father Billie Ray Matthews Sr. and his wife Dorrise; his children and grandchildren, Timothy Caton and his wife Kimberly and their children Chyanna, Cory and Cyle; Clifford Waites and his wife Susan and their children, Arial, Allison, Drennon and Marcus; David Waites and his wife Anna; Candice Stolle and her husband Ryan and their children Jayden, Jocelyn and Jacob; Tamisha Matthews and her husband Robert Boles; Jessica Matthews and her husband Nathaniel and their son Nathaniel and Ciara Boles; three brothers, Billie Ray Matthews Jr., Richard Leland Hiatt and Charles Hiatt; and a sister Lesa Hill. All love him and will miss him dearly but will keep his memory alive.
Memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, October 2nd, at the First Christian Church, 1835 Walnut Street, Carrollton with Pastor Harold Elias-Perciful officiating. Inurnment, with military honors, is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 5th , at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane A.
