Ada Rita Rubio

Ada Rita Barroso Hernandez de Rubio, passed away peacefully at her home Monday evening, August 29, 2011.She was born in 1938 in Bauta, Cuba and graduated from a private school in Havana, Cuba. Ada moved to the United State in 1959, along with her identical twin sister, Aida. She stayed busy working until her retirement from the Marriott in Atlanta when she decided to relocate to Calhoun, Georgia to be closer to family.

Ada loved all animals, enjoyed good food, music, Spanish soap opera’s, movies and good mystery novels. She had a wonderful laugh that would bring a smile to your face. If there were one word to summarize Ada, it would be her own favorite word, “Perfecto”!

She is survived by her six daughters, Mercedes, Gina, Michell, Maritza, Cristina and Carmina, 21 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and her dog, Diggity.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Willard officiating.

Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m.
