

Agnes Auston Griffin, 89, of Cartersville, Georgia, died November 15, 2010. Mrs. Griffin was born October 30, 1921 in Dale County, Alabama, a daughter of the late James Elbert Auston and Virgie Pistol Kensal Auston. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was retired from the then First National Bank of Cartersville that was later Wachovia Bank. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlisle Patrick Griffin, and her brothers, Cullen, Warren and Wyatt Auston and her sisters, Cody Windham and Bobbie Williams, and is survived by sister, Novie Jewell Milcarsz, of Acworth and sister and brother in law, Jeanette and Edwin Averett of Geneva, Alabama and a brother and sister in law, Wayne and Anne Auston, of Springfield, Missouri, and a number of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, friends and her church family. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 20, 2010, from the Sunset Memory Gardens with Rev. Ted Smith officiating.
