

Alice was born September 23, 1925 in Cartersville, Ga., only child to John W. Chitwood and Hermione Morris Chitwood.
Alice graduated from Cartersville High School and attended Georgia State College for Women. In 1943 she returned to Cartersville and married Lyle E. Osmundsen.
Alice was a loving, gentle, caring and kind wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. A true lady, respected and loved by all who knew her.
She was a devoted homemaker and always there for her family and friends.
As a long time member of Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church she was an active participant and practiced her faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle E. Osmundsen, son David Kevin Osmundsen, grandson Jeremy Altman Stajich, and second husband Dr. William David Vaughan.
Survivors are daughter Lyla Fain Osmundsen, son John Curtis Osmundsen (Nancy), daughter Karen Osmundsen Kahan ( Dr. Bernard). Grandchildren are John Curtis Osmundsen Jr., Lauren Amanda Meisenheimer (Ryan), Allison Victoria Hennek, ( Kurt), Laura Beth Kahan. Great grandchildren are Jackson Kurt Hennek, Harper Anne Meisenheimer, Blakely Karalyn Hennek, and Reece William Meisenheimer.
A Memorial Service will be held at two-thirty in the afternoon on Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Lobello and Nena Jones officiating. A private family graveside service will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for an hour and a half prior to service time at Owen Funeral Home.
