Betty Wigington Wallin

Mrs. Wallin was born on November 24, 1931 in Rome, GA, daughter of the late Charlie Michael Wigington and Velma Marie Caldwell Wigington.

Mrs. Wallin was a beloved mother and grandmother who was known to all for her kindness and willingness to open up her home to anyone in need. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and also a life time member of the VFW and served as President of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She was a longtime local restaurant waitress and bartender, serving at Sports Page and Morrell’s, just to name a few. In her spare time she enjoyed poker, gambling, singing karaoke and traveling to the beach. She was also a lung and breast cancer survivor. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lee Wallin.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane Henson of Cartersville, GA and Robin (Keith) Wright of Cartersville, GA; son, Gary Lee Wallin of Cartersville; step-daughters, Deborah (Junior) Jenkins of Soddy Daisy, TN and Regina (Richard) Smith of Lafayette, GA; step-sons, Ronnie (Lane) Wallin and Timothy (Annie) Wallin of Lafayette, GA; grandchildren, David Henson, Lisa (Sergio) Salinas, Melissa (Jeff) Parris, and Ryan Wright; great-grandchildren, Riley Henson, Brandon Parris and Sara Salinas; sisters, Barbara Williams of Cartersville; step-sister, Joyce (Guinn)Jackson of Dalton, GA; step-brother, Billy Southern of Dalton, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Jacobs officiating.

Visitation will be held for two hours prior to service time at Owen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Lung Cancer Association or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
