

Bobby Lee Maxwell, Sr., age 83 of Taylorsville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. He was born in Taylorsville, Georgia, on September 11, 1941 to James Noble Maxwell, Sr., and Myrtice Christine Gentry Maxwell.
Bobby was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and a lifelong resident of Taylorsville. He spent his early years farming before starting Maxwell Precast, where he worked as owner and operator for decades.
He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Drucilla Cox Maxwell. The two were married for nearly 60 years and shared a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. Bobby was a long-time member of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church.
Known for his love of conversation, Bobby never met a stranger and always had a story or advice to share. He enjoyed gardening, cheering on the Braves, eating lunch at Five Forks Grocery and driving his truck to make a tank delivery. Above all, Bobby cherished his role as a husband, father and “Pa” to his grandchildren and great-grandson. His steadfast strength, generous spirit, and dependable presence will be deeply missed.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Drucilla Maxwell; brothers, Edward Maxwell and James (Lynn) Maxwell; sister, Thelma (Bill) Langley; brother in-law Brian Garrett and his grandsons, Max Corbin and Noah Warren. He is survived by his children, Lisa (Jeff) Quinn, Joy (Jeff) Suskind, and Lee Maxwell; grandchildren, Mallory (Josh) Ridgely, Sarah Corbin, Nicholas Warren, Emily Quinn, Katie Quinn, and Ashley Cash; great-grandson, Riley Corbin; sister, Eva Garrett; dear friend, Teena Floyd, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church, located at 450 Iron Hill Road, Taylorsville, Georgia, with Rev. Keith Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow at Taylorsville Cemetery with Nicholas Warren, Josh Ridgely, James Maxwell, Stacey Jones, David Floyd, and Justin Spires serving as pallbearers. Customers of Maxwell Precast are invited to serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Owen Funeral Home.
