

Brenda was born on August 6, 1955 in Kankakee, IL, daughter of the late Albert and Florence Shelby.
Brenda graduated from Bradley University in 1977 where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. She taught middle school Math, Science and Special Education for twenty years. She met the love of her life in 1977, Ed Denovellis, through mutual friends. They married in 1981 and lived in several different states throughout their forty-two years of marriage.
She was also a devoted and loving stay-at-home mother for twenty years to her two children, Elaine Campbell and Eddie Denovellis. Teaching remained her passion and she continued to volunteer her time to the local schools and also assisted with tutoring with children in their neighborhoods. She was very passionate about donating her time, her possessions and monetary contributions to various organizations, fundraisers and people.
In her spare time, she loved shopping and traveling with her family. She was an avid animal lover and adored all of her pets.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Ed Denovellis; daughter, Elaine (Chris) Campbell; son, Eddie (Laura) Denovellis; brother, William "Bill" Shelby; sister, Alberta "Berta" (Ed) Zapatka; a host of nieces and nephews; beloved fur babies.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Friday, the 29th of March, 2024 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Josh James officiating.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the evening until eight on Thursday, the 28th of March, 2024 at Owen Funeral Home.
