Brenton Higdon

Brent was born on January 19, 1971 in Dallas, Georgia, son of Jewel Mauldin.

Brent was a beloved Math and Physical Education Teacher. He coached baseball, football, softball, and soccer with the Bartow County School System, where he proudly served for 29 years. He was a ray of bright light to all of the faculty and students. He never hesitated to help anyone around him in their time of need. He made friends everywhere he went, and he loved to keep everyone laughing with his jokes. Brent was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, deer hunt, and light bonfires in his backyard. He loved to tinker, build new things, and fix those that were broken. His greatest joy came from spending quality time with his loving wife of 29 years, his three children, and his precious cats and dog.

Brent is preceded in death by his step-father, Larry Mauldin; brother, Phillip Higdon; brother-in-law, Randy Gentry; and grandfather, Roy Watts.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Gentry Higdon; children, Brycen Higdon, Caroline Higdon, and Emily Higdon; mother, Jewel Mauldin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Donna Gentry; aunt and uncle, Richard and Lee Hunter; special nephew and wife, Bradley and Christin Gentry; his precious cats, Tiger, Skinny, and Journey; and his beloved dog, Elsie.

The family will be holding a Visitation beginning at 4pm on Tuesday, the 20th of December 2022, in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home.

Following, a Celebration of Life Service will commence at 12pm on Wednesday, the 21st of December, 2022, in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rob Miller officiating.

Finally, Interment will immediately follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery also in Cartersville, Georgia.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Hornbuckle, Michael Hornbuckle, Tim Hornbuckle, Jon Creel, Brian Mosher and Eric Harris.
