Clarence was a very caring and loving man with a heart of gold. He never met a stranger and enjoyed putting a smile on everyone’s face. Clarence was very driven and had an amazing work ethic and this was evident throughout his life. Clarence was always very active and in his spare time, he enjoyed being outside tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. Clarence was known to have a green thumb and always had beautiful flowers.
On July 3, 1959 he married the love of his life, Peggy Hallford Cravey, and they spent the next sixty-three years together. Clarence spent thirty years working for Delta Airlines before retiring. Thereafter, he filled his time working at IBM as a contractor for seven years. In his younger years, Clarence also served in the United States Navy.
Clarence was a man of God and a devout Christian. As a Pastor, he founded and built Calvary Assembly of God in Hampton, Georgia, as well as moving and building a new Cordele Assembly of God, now known as New Covenant Assembly of God, in Cordele, Georgia. Clarence also pastored many churches such as Mount Carmel Assembly of God, Barnesville Assembly of God and Tallapoosa Assembly of God. Clarence was known by many and will deeply be missed.
