Dennis Smith

Mr. Smith was born October 10, 1948 in Cartersville, Georgia son of the late Marion Nicholson Smith, Sr. and Lona Mae Rutland Smith. He was a self employed contractor and enjoyed farming. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U. S. Marines. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Nicholson, Sr. and Lona Mae Smith; a brother, Marion N. Smith, Jr.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Joyce Gilmer Smith; a niece, Carla Smith Rezac; a brother, Clyde Smith and his wife Elizabeth; nieces and nephews, Lori Smith, Blake Smith, Beth Mercer; a sister, Bridget Bell and husband Mike; nephew and niece, David Bell, Stephanie Bell Abercrombie; children of his heart, Hawke Johnson, Tyler Adams.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning January 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Tabernacle Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include John Davidson, Alan Smith, Billy Smith, David Bell, Jason Parker.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Missions.
