Donna Gaines Choate

Dona, “Don Petite”, was born January 9, 1938, the youngest daughter of the late Luke and Margaret Gaines Pettit.

She was a lifelong resident of Carterville and is survived by her three children, Vandi White (Harry White), Connie Mansour (Luke Mansour), and Jay Choate (Ansley Choate); her grandchildren, Lydie White Anderson (John Anderson), Anna Pettit White, Luke Anthony Mansour, Rose Vandivere White, Jackson Choate Mansour, Hal Pettit Mansour, Margaret Claire Choate, and Juliana Shaw Choate and a loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her soul mate, Hal J. Choate, “Big Hal”; and her three loving big sisters Marlu, Pinky, and Gay.

A memorial service will be held Thursday July 9, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.

The family will appreciate donations in celebration of Dona’s life to the Margaret and Luke Pettit Environmental Preserve, P.O. Box 2843, Cartersville, GA, 30120 or to the Friendship House of Jesus, P.O. Box 513, Bainbridge, GA 39818.
