Dorothy Lee Goodwin

Mrs. Goodwin was born September 19, 1929 in Canton, Georgia, daughter of the late Arthur Blalock and Bertha Childers Blalock. Prior to retirement she worked at Shaw Industries in Cartersville for 35 years. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and attended New Cannon Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Luther Goodwin; a son, William Earl Goodwin; her parents, Arthur & Bertha Blalock; sisters, Doris Heath and Louise Mangrum; brothers, Grady Blalock and Gene Blalock.

Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Sue Goodwin; 2 granddaughters, Kelly Hardin (Shane) and Autumn Garrett (Darrin); 5 great-grandchildren, Jordan Lewis, Jamie Hardin, Savannah Barrett, Madelyn Barrett, Dylan Barrett; brothers & sisters, Francis Benson, Buddy Blalock, Inez Buckner, Edward Blalock; s number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon January 12th at 1:00 P.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eugene Childers and Rev. Larry Towe officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Rick Holcomb, Rodney Blalock, Jimmy Hendrix, Randall Heath, Lamar Burt, and Timmy Buckner.
