

Mr. Young was born on May 1, 1936 in Rydal, GA, son of the late Charles A. Young and Mamie Coggins Young.
Mr. Young was employed with Bartow County for many years as a dump truck Driver. In his spare time he loved working with his hands as a carpenter building cabinets and also tinkering as a mechanic on his vehicles. He was known to his family and friends as the best chainsaw sharpener in town and greatly enjoyed teaching everyone exactly how it was done. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and a proud and active member of Stamp Creek Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Gertrude Cansler Young; son-in-law, Barry Burns; brothers, Homer, Gene, Frank, Fred, Harley and Rob Young.
Survivors include his children, Brenda Sue Potts (Bobby), Betty Jo Fronebarger (Wayne), Linda Darlene Neal (Ricky), Kathy Lynn Young Burns, Ricky Eugene Young (Taryn), Bobbie Jo Goldman (Glenn), and Brandy Carpenter (John); sister, Bonnie Taylor; brothers, Harvey and Roy Young; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Stamp Creek Baptist Church with Corey Martin, Rev. Hoyt Jones and Rev. Mitzi Oates officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Stamp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Owen Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are John Carpenter, Joshua Goldman, Brandon Rollins, Kenneth Taylor, Dallas Young, Jaime Young and David Whitfield.
Honorary pallbearers are Jase Potts, Parker Martin and Anthony Whitfield.
