Elizabeth Pittard "Betty" Kennedy

Mrs. Kennedy was born June 3, 1924 in Bartow County, Georgia, the daughter of the late James D. Pittard and Ollie Strozier Pittard.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was Postmaster of the Cassville, Georgia Post Office in the 1980s, and was given the award for Most Innovative Postmaster for 1989. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Frank W. Kennedy, Sr.; brother, James "Bo" Pittard; sisters, Jessie Williams and Mildred Novak.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" and Pearla Kennedy; son, Warren Kennedy; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Rocky Abernathy; grandchildren, Mary Beth Foy, Karen and Jeff Woodman, Joshua and Jennifer Abernathy, Matthew and Lisa Abernathy, Mark and Kayla Abernathy, Rebecca and Aaron Clark; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Marus officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
