

MawMaw enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She often enjoyed many arts and crafts such as macreme, sewing and wire art. She loved listening to Elvis Presley and baking goods for her family. MawMaw held her relationship with the Lord close to her heart. She also taught teenage Sunday school for two years at New Vision Baptist Church, where she was a member. She graduated and worked at Metro Tech in 2001 and retired in 2007 due to health issues. MawMaw and Jon Reed enjoyed forty-two loving years together, celebrating their anniversary on May 1. Mrs. Esther Reed was a kind and loving woman who touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.
Along with her parents, MawMaw is preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Heath, Jessie Heath and Luther Heath; and a grandson, Josh Hobson.
She is survived by her husband, Jon Reed; daughter, Mary Jane (Wayne) Hobson; sons, Kenneth Lewis and Michael (Lisa) Lewis; brothers, Lloyd Heath and Harvey (Mary) Heath; sisters, Mary (Bud) Arrowood and Martha (Bob) Grier; grandchildren, Michael Hobson, Tonya (John) Hony, Kayla (Josh) Lockridge, and Corey (Haley) Lewis; eight great grandchildren and many loving extended family members and friends to cherish her memory.
A celebration of life to honor Mrs. Reed will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at three o'clock in the afternoon at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, Georgia 30120 with Pastor Barry McCullough officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation three hours prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.
