Evelyn Mathison Rutland

Mrs. Rutland was born March 9, 1921 in Bartow County, the daughter of the late Harley and Clara (Cooper) Mathison. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Rutland worked at EZ Mills for a number of years and later at Lay’s 5 & 10 and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Rutland, son in law, Emory Cornelius, infant grandson, Jason Cornelius, great- grandson, Bryce Rogers and a brother, Doc Mathison.

Surviving is her daughter, Martha Cornelius, grandchildren, Paula Brown (Kevin), Brad Cornelius (Jennifer), Leigh Rogers (Jason), great-grandchildren, Matthew, David and Andrew Brown, Emma and Lonni Cornelius, Christian, Anna and Tatum Rogers, sister in law, Sara Mathison, a niece and two nephews, Teresa Waddell (Larry), Bruce Mathison (Beth) and Michael Mathison.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Duvall officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Todd Adams, David Brown, Ben Mathison, Robert Morgan, Jerry Prewett and Christian Rogers.
