My relationship with Tom and Rita goes back, way back, though we have not been in touch in recent years. Rita, I remember when you started going out with Tom in your “junior”year in high school   You would tell me all about him as we shared a seat most days, on our bus rides to school. You knew he was THE one right off the bat. Of course I remember being in your wedding very soon after high school graduation. It was such a grown up thing to be doing.   It is quite a tribute to both of you that your marriage lasted for 57 years.  But he was a sweet guy and you loved him well.  Interestingly I never knew he could sing a lick. My condolences Rita and family. And my congratulations on the beautiful life and family you and Tom created.

Tom and Rita are very friendly, and I enjoyed greeting them after Mass and his genuine gesture as we referred to him as ‘Santa’.  A true example of a  family Man and a generous soul going above and beyond to serve others with his time and treasure.

I remember Mr. Tom always picking out the best music to play at SFoA events. He always asked to sing karaoke with me which of course I excepted everytime! We always sang after watching my father and deceased mother slow dance to their song, per their request of Mr. Tom. 
He will be deeply missed by many including myself.

As members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, we saw Tom regularly after the 10:00 am Mass. Since we started attending years ago, we've had three boys, now aged 5, 3, and 5 months. Mass with small children can be very overwhelming, trying to balance their experience of the Mass with not interfering with others' experience. Tom had impeccable timing. Any time I thought we'd had the worst Mass or that the boys had just disturbed so many people, Tom would slide over to our side of the sanctuary and greet us with that big smile and tell me how beautiful our family is and how well behaved the boys are.  He'd talk to the boys and keep their full attention. He was always so complimentary and friendly. His kindness will be missed in our church family. May he rest in peace and may God grant you, his family, the peace that only He can give in these hard moments of our lives. Our prayers are with you.

When I first met Tom, he was the easiest future father- in - law to love. I have never met someone as giving, funny, and as unique as Floyd Thomas Fritz. He welcomed me into his family with open arms, and loved me like I was one of his own children. He loved his family with his whole heart. 
Tom was one of those special people that when I think about him or speak about him, all I can do is smile. He was my father- in- law by title. But to me, he was so much more than that. He was my friend, a wonderful grandfather to my daughter, and a very good singer. I do not remember one time where I ever heard him off key. He had many special gifts. He will always be in my heart. I know I will see him again, and he will hug me and say, "Hey, Mommy Llama. I am so happy to see you."

A lot of people use the expression: "nobody's perfect!" In my humble opinion, that saying is simply an excuse for poor behavior, a cop out. LOVE itself is perfect. (Read your bibles, people.) And I can honestly say that I loved my Dad, even though we didn't always see eye to eye about everything. But again, love is not always about seeing eye to eye with someone. It is much more complicated than that. Would you even recognize perfection if you saw It face to face?  As long as you believe that Christ died for you, then someday you will see It face to face, just as my Dad is seeing Him now.

My father was the biggest influence in my life. He taught me how to hunt, he taught me how to fish (both things I love to do to this day) and, in both of these lessons, he taught me, a great deal, about patience. That its not really that important whether or not you get a buck or catch a trophy fish, it's about spending time in God's country and being a part of the majesty of His creation.  

Most importantly he taught me to love and trust in the Lord. He did this through his generosity, kind heart, commitment to his faith and the unconditional love he had for his family. There was nothing he wouldn't do for any of his children or grandchildren, even if doing so could possibly bring about hardship for him. 

When I was very sick, he spent the night at the hospital with me, many times, and he never gave up hope that the Lord would heal me. 

Saying "I love you" isn't enough to express what he meant to me, but the last thing I said to him, 20 minutes before he passed, was "I love you, daddy, and I'm so happy that you're home." 

Now you are truly home, surrounded by the love of Christ, and I find comfort in knowing that I'll see you there one day. Until then you will be deeply missed.

I remember every weekend I would come over he would always say the same joke. He would ask me “do you think someone should be punished for something they didn’t do?” And I would say no. Then he would say “well I didn’t do my homework” I would give anything to hear that joke one last time.

My grandfather was a really great man. He was both a great father and grandfather. He loved both his kids and grandchildren. He would do anything for any of them. And loved us all very much. He will be greatly missed. I didn’t realize how much I needed him until he was already gone. I’ll see him again one day, but for now he watches over us.

Tom was truly what I would describe as a wise soul. Not only that, but one of the most generous people I've had the privilege of seeing on a regular basis. When my mother and I needed somewhere to stay, he didn't think twice, didn't bat an eyelash, and jumped at the opportunity to put a roof over our heads. I could not be more thankful for the help he so graciously provided when we needed it most.
