

Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending his spare time coaching sports. He loved to be outside coaching his children’s team and watching his grandchildren’s ball games and watching his favorite team, Georgia Bulldogs. Ray loved being with his family and spending quality time with them.
On February 26, 1978 he married his loving wife, Ronda McPherson Wright, and they spent the next forty-four years together before his passing.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his father and mother in law, John L. McPherson and Atherine McPherson.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda Wright; daughters, Jennifer (Matt) Hyde, Kelly (Jessie ) Harkins, and Elizabeth Wright; sister, Lynne (Darryl) Perry; grandchildren, Julia McIntyre, Mae Mae McIntyre, Ansley (Clay) Burt, Sophie McIntyre, Katie Hyde, McKaiden Reece, Kaleb Hyde, McKya Reece, Layla Williams, and Easton Smith; furbaby, Ruby Wright; expecting his first great grandchild in October, baby Burt; and many extended family members and friends to cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Ray Wright will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Stewart officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ray Wallace, Don Temples, Gary Temples, Wally Sweat, Carl Mulkey, Billy Satterfield, Joe Alexander, Larry Grisham, Paul Cross, Ronny Mulkey, Phil Riner, Kevin Swindall, Jeff Knudson, and Ronnie Turner. Friends are cordially invited for visitation on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 5:00-8:00pm at Owen Funeral Home.
