

Mr. Ross was born November 23, 1955, in Rome, Georgia, a son of the late Harold E. (Butter) Ross, Sr.
Hal was a member of the Cartersville Church of Christ and was owner and operator of Ross Diner. He enjoyed fishing, backpacking, being around kids and being a part of the Educational group at his church. Hal had a deep love for his family. He was a 1973 graduate of Cartersville High School.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Dye Ross, daughter and son in law, Sally Beth and John Dooley, of Adairsville, Burl Ross and Brittany Dye, of White, four grandchildren, Wade Dooley, Hadley Dye, Maggie Dye and Madison Dooley, his mother, Catherine Abee, of Cartersville, his brother and sister in law, Rick and Sharon Ross, of Cartersville, a nephew, Christopher Ross, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 9, 2014 from the Cartersville Church of Christ with Bobby Gayton officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Ross, Rickey Haney, Jon Gayton, Jeffrey Ross, Bruce Smith and Wesley Ross.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
