Huey Timms

Huey graduated from Cartersville High School in the class of 1954. He retired from ConAgra after a 40 year career in the poultry industry. Huey was a past president of The Cartersville Country Club and a past Exalted Ruler of the Cartersville Elks Lodge.

Huey was known as an avid golfer with a bubbly personality and a great sense of humor. Huey was humble and sweet, genuinely loved by all who knew him. He loved being outdoors which was evident by his finely manicured lawn and his hours spent playing golf.

Huey is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Merteal Timms as well as his sister, Jean Taff.

Huey is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Syble McDaniel Timms. He is also survived by his daughter, Connie and future son-in-law, Ricky Woods, granddaughters; Macy (Robert) Gibson and Sarah (Chris) Harrell. Four great grandsons, a very special brother-in-law, Kenny McDaniel also survive to share the memories of Huey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home Saturday, March 30, 2019 at one o’clock in the afternoon with the Rev. Paul Battles officiating. Entombment will follow the services at Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home from eleven o’clock in the morning Saturday, March 30, 2019 until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Hickory Log, Parkinson’s Foundation or The Etowah Valley Humane Society.
