James Benjamin Castleberry

Mr. Castleberry was born May 6, 1933 in Gainesville, Georgia, the son of the late Mark and Verdell (Conner) Castleberry, was a member of the Red Cross, the Salvation Army and Faith United Methodist Church and Outreach. He was a retired Veteran having served 22 years in the U.S. Army and during that time served in Korea and Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Edwin Castleberry.

Surviving is his wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley Davis Castleberry of Cartersville, daughters, Cindy Castleberry of Cumming, Georgia, Becky Ferguson and her husband, Mark of Dalton, grandchildren, Jaclyn, John, Rachael and Sarah Fleischer and Carl Fleischer, III, Jacob and Emma Grace Ferguson, sister, Joyce Carducci of Hiram, brother and sister in law, Victor and Nancy Castleberry of Acworth and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at 12:00 noon at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Marus and Rev. Dana Everhart officiating.

A private family graveside service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with full military rites.

The family received friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Members of the Faith United Methodist Church Journeymen Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
