James William Ousley

Mr. Ousley was born December 17, 1940 in Monroeville, Alabama, the son of the late, Barney B. and Ophelia (Defee) Ousley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and attended Grace Baptist church. Mr. Ousley was a member of the Teamsters Union from 1968-2006 when he retired from Yellow Freight Lines. He enjoyed traveling in the United States and Canada in his RV and loved to fish, especially in Bass Tournaments.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Otis Ousley, Martha Walters, Euna Vay Scarborough and Gladys Graham.

Surviving is his wife of 37 years, Janet Ousley of Cartersville, children, Timothy and Kimberly Ousley of Kennesaw, Iris Ann and Van Barattini of White, Donna and Eric Groseclose of Newberry, South Carolina, James Ousley, Jr. of Picayune, Mississippi, Stanley Ousley of N. Biloxi, Mississippi, twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, Nellie Jewel Rivers of Arcola, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Jenkins officiating.

Burial will follow with military rites at Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Sam Key, Billy Harrington, Steve Janson, Kenny McCauley, Jan Retal and Richard Lagace.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
