Jerry was a hard worker and was very patriotic. He spent his early years serving in the United States Air Force during which time he married his high school sweetheart, Jean Harvell. After retiring from the Air Force, Jerry worked as a driver for Complete Auto Transit of Atlanta. Jerry was a devout Christian, serving as an Elder at Cartersville Church of Christ for over 30 years. Jerry liked to fish, car races and most of all, traveling. He and his wife, Jean spent their retirement visiting every state in the United States, Alaska being Jerry's favorite. He loved his family with all his heart and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jean Chase; son Timothy J. Chase; daughter Cynthia R. Edwards; daughter Cathy D. Crisp; and daughter Caron L. Chase; grandson David B. Chase, granddaughter Janna D. Harrell, grandson Ronald L. Edwards, granddaughter Sande C. Edwards, granddaughter Beverly L. Edwards, granddaughter Nika S. McBee, granddaughter Dawn O' Pry, granddaughter Kelley A. Mealer and granddaughter MacKenzie C. Mealer. 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive to cherish Jerry's memory.
Jerry was preceded in death by; father Lawton V. Chase and mother, Elvie Nadine Chase of LaGrange, GA.
A funeral service will be conducted for Mr. Chase in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, August 4, 2018 at eleven o'clock in the morning with Mr. Bobby Gayton and Mr. Corey Barnette officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens, Cartersville, GA.
The family will receive friends at Owen Funeral Home Friday, August 3, 2018 from five o'clock in the evening until eight.
Flowers will be accepted and memorial donations may also be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
