

John was born July 17, 1944 in Cartersville, Georgia to the late Lemon and Mary Hale. He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Hale Carlisle and her husband Ronnie. He was a member of Emerson masonic Lodge #738 F. & A.M. serving as Past Master and was retired from the Georgia State Highway Department after 30 years.
John was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Emerson where he served as deacon for many years. One of his greatest joys was delivering meals and Christmas baskets to the elderly and shut-ins. He held two turkey shoots each year to raise money for the baskets and looked forward to giving them out each year. An Avid hunter, he was Master of Hounds and Bench Show Judge for Bartow County Coon Club where he also served as Secretary/Treasurer. He greatly enjoyed working with , raising and hunting with his dogs.
John is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Joyce Simpson Hale to whom he was married on January 4, 1966; a daughter, Karen Hale Davis (Richard) of Armuchee; a son, John David Hale (Shannon) of Cartersville; grandchildren, Garrett Davis, Ethan Davis, and Lauren Hale; a sister, Christine Beavers (Donald); cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday October 27th at 12:00 p.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reggie Nations officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Emerson Masonic Lodge #738 F. & A.M. in charge of masonic graveside rites.
Pallbearers include Deacons of First Baptist Church of Emerson.
