

Jon Oscher of Cartersville, GA, passed away Thursday, February 19th, 2026. He was born in the Bronx, NY, on December 17th, 1932. He moved to Chatsworth, GA as a child and went to Tennessee Military Academy before attending and graduating from Georgia Tech.
He was an avid car and art collector, as well as a proud Georgia Tech Alumni who rarely missed a football and basketball game. Jon was also a true advocate for education and the arts.
He was a true pioneer in the cable television industry, where he successfully operated cable systems for 32 years. His real passion in life was philanthropy and giving back to the communities that gave so much to his family. His legacy will be continued by the family foundation.
Jon was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Dot. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lorri McClain (Forrest), his son, David Aiken, his grandson, Connor McClain (Elle), and his granddaughter, Reilly McClain Santoro (Joel).
The family will hold a private graveside service. A celebration of life for the entire community will be held Monday, March 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Booth Western Art Museum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bartow History Museum, the Booth Western Art Museum, the Savoy Automobile Museum, or the Tellus Science Museum at www.georgiamuseums.org.
