

Lamar Brock, age 76 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away January 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 28, 1947 to the late Herbert Lamar Brock and Madeline Cornett Brock Sligh. After the untimely death of his father, he was blessed to be raised by his Daddy, the late Clarence Sligh, who always loved him as his own.
After graduation from Cassville High School in 1965, he proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Shaw Industries in 2014 after 21 years of dedicated service.
Lamar was an avid reader of books, lover of sports and a proud member of the American Legion Carl Boyd Post #42. He was most passionate about his service to the post serving as Commander in 1998-1999 and again in 2005-2006. He was voted Legionnaire of the Year in 2022 and was currently serving on the Board of Directors.
Survivors are his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce Davis Brock, children Chuck Bohannon, Dana Lebkisher and husband Jon; Haley Brock (Caspar Waits); Erin Morrison and husband Doug. Lovingly known as "Pops" by grandchildren Harlee Moody and husband Abe; Cole Bohannon and wife Rebekah; Harrison Heath; Reed Bohannon; Owen and Ethan Lebkisher; great grandson Jakob Dolan; sister Patty Fortner and husband Doug; daughter-in-law Peggy Knight.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at four o'clock in the evening at Owen Funeral Home.
Friends and family are cordially invited to a visitation prior to the service from two o'clock until four o'clock at Owen Funeral Home.
The family invites you to join them in a Celebration of Life meal prepared by his friends in the meeting hall of The American Legion after the memorial.
