Mr. Lester Robert Bragg, 77, of Acworth, GA passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023. He fought a courageous fight with cancer, and was determined to beat it up until the end. He will be greatly missed by his family & friends, but they find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering, and whole again with the Lord in Heaven.
Lester was born in Rome, GA on July 26, 1946. He was the son of the late Floyd Bragg Jr. and late Jessie Mae Casey Bragg. He was the oldest of seven children. Lester was preceded in death by his grandparents Floyd Bragg Sr. and Carrie White Bragg, Clark Casey and Minnie Casey of Rome, GA, and by siblings Joyce Ward, Charles Bragg and Patricia Bragg.
Lester was a strong man. He was a wonderful, caring and protective husband. A steady father for his children, who he always protected, provided for and supported relentlessly. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him so much joy & laughter, and he was extremely proud of each one of them.
He loved his country and was honored to serve in the Marine Reserves for six years. He had a long, successful career at Ford Motor Credit with over 35 years of service. And, because he loved to stay busy & active, after retirement, he got his real estate license to sell mountain property.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid runner for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, camping, hiking and making countless memories with his supportive traveling friend group.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Linda Bryant Bragg, his son Todd Bragg (Amy), daughter Tonya Bragg (Shone) and stepdaughter Lindsey Taulbee (Aaron); grandchildren Chaz Bragg (Caitlyn), Carlee Bragg (Victoria), Kennedy, Abby, Braxton and Savannah Bragg, Asher and Hannah Taulbee; great grandchildren, Madison, Roman and Eli Bragg; brother, Donald Bragg (Regina), and sisters Ruthie Vandiver and Janice Payne.
