Louise "Lucy" Young

Mrs. Young was born January 10, 1936 in Bartow County, Georgia, daughter of the late John Elrod and Jewel Moss Elrod. She was a homemaker and loved her family. She was a life long resident of Pine Log and for years, she volunteered at Cartersville Medical Center with Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. “Chuck” Young and by a daughter-in-law, Audrey Young.

Survivors include her daughter, Pat Young of Cartersville; a son, BoBo Young of Fairmount; 2 grandsons, Kyle Young and wife Marisa and Brandon Young; brother and sister and law Jimmy and Marie Elrod of Cartersville; a niece and husband; two nephews and wives; four great nephews and wives; one Great-great nephew; Aunt Claudell Mulkey; Uncle J R Elrod, and a number of cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon June 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Reggie Temples, Rev Huey Holloway and Rev. James Surratt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include, Jody Elrod, Eric Elrod, Drew Elrod, Darrell Elrod, Harvey Evans, Kyle Young, Jeffrey Cornwell, Von Kelly. Honorary pallbearers include John Hawkins, Roger Moss, Houston Mulkey.
