Marilyn Mardelle Olsen

Marilyn worked in customer service at Bartow County Bank for over thirty-five years before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading many novels and collecting owl figurines. Marilyn often liked to watch her favorite team, which were the Braves, among many other sports. Throughout her life, she had constant companions of her cats. Marilyn was an active member of Sam Jones United Methodist Church for over forty years. She loved the Christmas holiday, and loved to bake for her family and friends. Marilyn was a very independent woman who loved her family whole heartedly. Being a very strong woman, she raised two boys by herself after the passing of her late husband, Larry Olsen. Marilyn was a loving mother, caring and very giving woman who will be missed by all who knew her.

Marilyn Olsen is survived by her two sons, Tod (Amy) Olsen and Derek Olsen; granddaughters, Lindsay Olsen and Jordan Olsen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Sam Jones Methodist Church.

A funeral service to honor Mrs. Marilyn Olsen will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at twelve o'clock in the afternoon at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest privately following the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.
