Mr. Marvin Kenneth Jones Jr.

Marvin “Kenneth” Jones, Jr., 68, of Cartersville, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 23rd. He was the beloved husband of Tammy Lee Jones, father to Garrett Jones (Lauren), Alison Jones Stamey (Tyler), and Russell Brady Jones, brother to Audrey Jones Justice (Charlie) and Myrna Jones Baker (Allen), and grandfather to 4 grandchildren (Eli, Liza, Levi, and Liam Jones), all of whom survive him. He was also a beloved uncle, nephew, and cousin. His very close and dear friends, neighbors, fellow church members and co-workers all held a special place in his life and would be included as family.

He was predeceased by his parents Marvin Kenneth Jones, Sr. and Helen Plemmons Jones Thompson of Robbinsville, NC, along with grandparents Russell and Reva Jones, and Merlin and Ruby Plemmons, all of Candler, NC.

Kenneth grew up in Charlotte, NC, eventually moving to Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a young man. His positive personality, combined with genuine love for life and people brought him advancement and success as a salesman who managed a multi-state region. He loved to meet and get to know strangers who quickly became friends.

Kenneth was a joyful man of deep faith and a follower of Christ Jesus. His pastors described him as a person who brought light wherever he went. He had a big heart and his loving benevolence to those in need was done quietly with no desire for recognition or praise from others.

Time spent around Kenneth was always fun and full of laughter. He was a master storyteller and could make you laugh until your cheeks would hurt. He will be forever loved and always in our hearts and memories.

A funeral service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning at Crosspoint City Church. Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from ten o'clock until eleven o'clock at the church. Kenneth will be buried at Sunset Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.
