Mary Branton Elrod

Mrs. Elrod was born June 13, 1935 in Bartow County, Georgia, daughter of the late Fred Branton and Rader Fortenberry Branton. She was retired from Cartersville Undergarment & Nantucket with over 40 years service and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She loved her church, her family and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, I.L. (Bossy) Elrod; Sister, Margie Rutledge; brothers, Bill Branton and George Branton; half brother, Macon Fortenberry.

Survivors include her sister, Pauline Cain of Marietta; Nieces and nephews, Hellen Morgan, Janie Evans, Wayne Rutledge, Roy Rutledge, Don Cain, Patsy Kirby, Sharon Cain, Peggy Birdsall, Kenneth Branton, Sam Fortenberry, Gail Taft.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 10th at 3:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Reggie Temples and Rev. George Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Wayne Rutledge, Don Cain, Ken Branton, Jerry Dean Mulkey, Scott Morgan, Cliff Evans, Danny Elrod.
