

Mrs. McElrath was born on June 27, 1927 in Emerson, GA, daughter of the late Melvin T. Ferguson and Leila Mae Graves.
Mrs. McElrath was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud member of Emerson United Methodist Church. She retired from EZ Mills as a machine operator after forty-one years of dedicated employment. She loved cooking for her family and she was well known for her delicious cornbread and peach pie. She was a long-time caregiver to several of her family members and will always be remembered for her helping hands.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Alvin T. McElrath; son, Kenneth Alvin McElrath; brothers, John Lewis Ferguson and Clarence Ferguson ; sisters, Allene Stephens, Bessie Tate, Louise Ferguson and Inez Ferguson.
Survivors include her grandson, Richard McElrath; daughter-in-law, Alta McElrath; a host of very special nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Private Graveside Services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 17th of April, 2020 in Sunset Memory Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Gainey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. McElrath's honor to Emerson United Methodist Church.
