Mike lived a life marked by dedication and unwavering devotion to his faith, family, and country. A committed Catholic who loved the Lord deeply, Mike lived out his beliefs with humility, gratitude, and a genuine heart for others. His faith guided him throughout his life and remained a source of strength and peace in his final days.
He began his career in the United States Secret Service, serving with honor and integrity. His commitment to protecting others led him to further service with both the Department of Homeland Security OIG and the Department of the Interior OIG, where he continued to exemplify professionalism and courage. After retiring from federal service, Mike returned to the private sector, working in corporate security at The Home Depot, where he was highly respected for his judgment and leadership.
Beyond his career, Mike was known for the joy he brought into every room he entered. He was witty, loving, and loyal, with a natural humor that made others feel at ease. He cherished time with friends and family, and he had a long-standing rivalry with his dog, Ginger, his self-declared arch-nemesis, who remained faithfully by his side.
His heart was rooted in his family, and his greatest pride was his wife Bethany and their six children—Amelia, Sarah, Martha, Rebecca, Laura, and Reed.
Mike is survived by his wife Bethany, his six children, his mother Colette (Dave) Haggerty, his sister Britton (David) Gregerson, his brother Matt (Kristen) Ishee, his sister Abril Ishee Severino, his parents-in-law Randy (Terrie) Reed, and his brother-in-law Charlie (Lisa) Reed. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaddis Michael Ishee.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Cartersville, Georgia, on November 24 at 10:00 a.m., before the funeral Mass, held at 11:00 a.m.
