Well old friend I couldn't let this close without respecting you with memory. One of my first would be about age3 or 4 when I ran away (2 houses down)to The Wilson's. I guess our birthdays being only a few days apart was just a minor part of the childhood we shared. I fortunately had a best friend as yourself as you had in me.Competitors, conspirators, we even imagined up our imaginary friends together. A very wise and spiritual fellow told me(Bobby Seabrook haha)only the brightest flames go first. I think of you often needless to say you will forever be present.

It is strange to think that a friend who helped shape my formative years is cradled in the arms of God today. In reading some of the comments here and listening at the funeral service, Shane never stopped making imprints on the hearts of his friends. I thought maybe Shane (the youngster) and Mike (the adult) were different. In essence, they were apparently much the same. He was intense, intelligent, compassionate and so much fun in every phase of his short  life. My current prayers and future lifetime support are with his entire family. We will see him again one day. Rest well my brother.

I truly enjoyed working with Mike.  His easy going demeanor and humor made him a pleasure to be around.  I'm so sorry for this tragic loss.  With thoughts and prayers,

Sometimes we are lucky enough to meet a person who we just have a feeling that that person is truly a good person,Mike struck each one of the maintenance crew as a true friend,Mike would always take the time to sit down and talk to each mechanic on each of his many visits to Bauxite. We shared many special moments just visiting. I worked with Mike for five years at Huber in the early 2000's. He made a lasting impression on me as a sincere and genuine person. His passing is a loss to everyone who knew him.

I can only imagine what you and your children are going through. Mike was a very unique man. I always consider him a brother. I will always remember him as this man who looked like he was 12 when he came to work at Huber. Lots of good memories I will cherish for life.

Mike and Linda I am so sorry for your loss.  Shane was a beautiful person.  May God lift you up during this time.  Ross, Rachel and I will be thinking of you all.

A great person to work with. Always found time to talk to me when he came to the Quincy and Marblehead plants. I consider myself lucky to have known him.

Mike was a wonderful person to work with and for.  He always took the time to ask about your family and how you were doing.  He talk about his family often.  Working with Mike was interesting to say the least, you never knew what joke he would play and when.  I can't imagine what you are going through, and my heart break for you, Kaithlyn and Jacob. I am very sorry to here of Mike's passing. It was a great shock.  He had a unique personality that everyone love.  I still remember the first time I traveled with him for work when he was young engineer.  He came to a job in Arkansas with 7 dollars in his pocket and no credit cards( he thought managers paid). Everyone laugh about that for yrs.

Mike was a great guy.  I work for Almatis ands we share the Arkansas location.  I truly liked and respected Mike.  I am terribly sorry for the loss to his family.

It's such a shock to hear of Shane's passing. May you find peace and comfort in the knowledge that he is with God in this time of sorrow. Shane will be missed. Our prayers go out to you and family.

Mike will be deeply missed by many.  He had so many good qualities.  He was creative, innovative, and very intelligent. One of the virtues that made Mike such a special person was his great sense of humor.  He made work enjoyable and fun.  His practical jokes and pranks will be legendary at Huber.  He was proud to be an alumni of Georgia Tech, proud to be a Huber employee, but so much more proud of his children.  He loved you dearly and talked about you often.  May God give you strength in this difficult time.  May you always keep the good memories of your dad close in your heart.

May the God of tender mercy (Psalms 83:18) grant the family peace and comfort during this time of sorrow.

Mike was one of the best friends that I ever had. He was also one of the best men that I had the pleasure to work with. A good example of our friendship was wnen he drove 100 miles to the Huber Etowah plant to be at my retirement party.

It seems like yesterday when I met Shane at Fair Oaks Elementary. He was the best friend I have ever had. My children could tell you who Shane was from the stories of us growing up together and my Mom consider him as her son. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your beautiful family.
