Ruth, daughter of the late Charles Benson and Gladys Waits Ingram, was born on August 8, 1931 in Taylorsville, Georgia.
She led a full and very loving life. Having a green thumb, she enjoyed tending to her gardens and always enjoyed growing flowers. She often would bake her famous peach cobbler and loved cooking for her family. On May 18, 1957 she married the love of her life, Andrew Wesley Ingle SR. They raised four children together before his passing in 2016. Ruth was known as being social to the tee and never missed an opportunity to make a friend. Being very caring and generous, she would often try to help others out where ever she could. She loved gospel music and was a member of Young Street Baptist Church. Ruth loved shopping, especially at her favorite store, Belk. Every now and then she would bake goodies and take them to the employees, which quickly became her friends.
She always was a strong and independent woman. Never complaining even up to her last days, she held her strength and portrayed this in all aspects of her life.
Family was most important to her. She was very close to her children and enjoyed being a mother. Her biggest joy in life was being a grandmother and spending quality time with her family making memories, she was affectionately know as “Nanny Myrt” to her grandchildren. Her favorite words she would always tell her family was “Love you more.” Ruth left an impression on everyone she met and she will be deeply missed.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Andrew Ingle SR.; sister, Joyce Mulkey; and brothers, Bobby Ingram and James Waites. Great grandson Cooper Williams, and great granddaughter Preslie Williams.
She is survived by her sons, Andy (Ann) Ingle JR. and Scott (Rhonda) Ingle; daughters, Kristy (Tim) Holley and Tammy (Billy) Womack; sisters, Charlotte Ingram and Linda Wigington; grandchildren, Josh (Kristin) Holley, Mindy (Derick) Dodson, Kim (Jordon) Thompson, Kasey (Charles) Hicks, Allie Ingle, Megan (Brad) Williams, Heather (Tyler) Barron, Brittany (Zach) Estes, Kendall (Jordy) Henson, and Sabrina Ingle; twenty-one great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends to cherish her memory.
