Raymond "Ray" Montgomery

Ray was born on August 26, 1947 in Rome, GA, son of the late A. David Montgomery and Reba Panter Montgomery.

Ray was a retired computer programmer from Napa Genuine Auto Parts after many years of dedicated employment. Ray was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and served as a minister at Gospel Assembly in Jasper, GA. He also played the trumpet for many years and recently the bass for Sunday services. He and his wife did evangelistic work for many years. He was well loved by all who knew him including many of his FaceBook friends from other countries. In his spare time he loved to read Bible oriented books, work puzzles and enjoyed anything computer related.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Rita Beard Montgomery; sister, Joy Renee Presley; nephew, James (Jennifer) Presley; niece, Tisha Hayhurst; a host of other nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Thursday, the 17th of December 2020 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. J.T. Padgett and Rev. Lee Garland officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Copper Hill, TN.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock in the evening until eight on Wednesday, the 16th of December, 2020 at Owen Funeral Home.
