

Roger was a kind and loving person. He was always willing to help if he could. Roger loved his family, especially being Uncle Roger to his nieces, grand -nieces and grand- nephew. He was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and loved his church family.
Roger served his country faithfully and honorably in the United States Army as an E-5 Sergeant during the Vietnam War, earning The National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge,1st Class Gunner, The Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Air Medal (Mortar), Bronze Star Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Rifle as well as Expert Pistol.
Roger is survived by his brother, Donald (Brenda) Moore, sister, Glenda (Randy) Reese, nieces; Jill (Tim) Storey, Staci (Richard) Vaughn, and great-nieces; Cambria Storey, Reese Storey, Emma Grace Vaughn, and great-nephew, Will Vaughn. A special friend, Faye Kay also survives to cherish Roger’s memory.
He will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Roger’s life will be conducted in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home on Monday, August 31, 2020 at three o’clock in the afternoon with the Rev. Chad Cox and Mr. Jason Martin officiating. Interment will follow the service in Kingston Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be: Will Vaughn, Richard Vaughn, Johnny Martin, Jason Martin, Roy Ledford, Harvey Bagley, James Brown, and Tim Storey.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home on Monday, August 31, 2020 from one o’clock in the afternoon until the service hour. Social distancing is appreciated.
