Roy Franklin Collum Sr.

Roy was born December 2, 1928 in Bartow County to Lewis Grady (Bay) Collum and Carrie Lucille Blalock Collum. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Johnnie Howard Collum and grandson, Byron James (BJ) Love. He was also preceded in death by brothers in law, James Cantrell and Thomas Mauldin and a sister in law, Carolyn Young Collum.

Roy was a veteran of the Korean War conflict and retired from Sunshine Biscuit after 30 plus years of service. After retirement he worked for Sod Atlanta until he retired again.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gearldine McIntyre Collum, daughters,

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald McPherson officiating.

Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hills Creek Baptist Church, 702 Old Cedartown Road, Rockmart, Georgia 30153.

Pallbearers will be Jack Hardin, Lewis Collum, Billy Thomason, Chad Mauldin, Fowler Dulworth and Jon Rutledge.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Hills Creek Baptist Church.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
