Ruby J Roberts

Ruby Williamson Roberts (nee Trent), 97, died January 28th in Cartersville, GA. She was born in Hancock County, TN, on October 3, 1920 to Samuel and Mary Davis Trent. She and her husband, Kelly Williamson, moved from Tennessee to Georgia in 1952 after Kelly graduated from Carson-Newman College and raised their 3 daughters and 2 sons in Acworth in Cobb County. Ruby was widowed at the age of 42 and had the job of parenting 3 teenagers and 2 younger children by herself. Later she remarried and was again widowed.

Ruby enjoyed a simple life of being a wife, mother/grandmother and loved participating in family lunches, dinners, parties, vacations and any type of get together that involved being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily habit of phoning each of her "senior children" at least once a day to "check" on them! Lastly, she participated in Bible studies and church services and frequently added anyone with a need to her prayer list.

She is survived by her family including: Janice Horton (Paul), Charlie Williamson (Gina ), Lynnda Thomas, Elaine Nicholson (Nick) and Larry Williamson (Phyllis) also numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday February 01,2018. Visitation will be 10:00am until service time. The Reverend Donna Lucus will be Speaking. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be made online to www.owenfunerals.com

Burial will be at 1:30pm Thursday February 01,2018 at the Georgia National Cemetery.
