

Born September 10, 1939 in Taylorsville, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Cagle and Evelyn Caldwell Cagle. Mrs. Hightower was retired from Cartersville Medical Center having worked in Environmental Services for over 25 years. Sara lived in Taylorsville her whole life and was a member of Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church. Sara's greatest enjoyment came from cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter Heather Hightower, nephew Forrest Hightower that was like a son; sisters, Elizabeth Cagle, Judy Cagle, Jeannette Hightower, Virginia Smith, Marian Brock, Martha Abernathy; and Brothers Joel Cagle, Bobby Cagle, and Harry Cagle.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Walter J Hightower; her son Morris Hightower (Nicole) of Taylorsville; her daughter Jessica House (Preston) of Rome; her brother Jerry Cagle of Tennessee; her sister Barbara Goodwin of Cartersville her grandchildren Wyatt Hightower and Gavin House and many that she took in and raised like her own Hailey Galloway (Justin) their children Bridget and Blaire Galloway and Cassie Hightower (Ramon) their son Dredyn Bautista, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Owen Funeral Home. Services Celebrating Sara’s life will be held at 11am on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Dempsey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10am. Pallbearers will be, Chad Knox, Preston House, Gavin House, Wyatt Hightower, Ramon Bautista, and Greg Hightower. Burial will follow in Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
