Sarah Frances Guyton

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Weldon Guyton; her father and mother, Bartow and Mamie Arnold Worthington; her sisters, Kathleen Dempsey and Mildred Pope, all to whom she was devoted; and a precious niece, Marlene Dempsey Edwards.

Frances’ survivors are a nephew, Jerry Dempsey and niece Faye Pope-Rhyne, a great nephew, Christopher Edwards and a great niece, Chastity Lowery-Brackin and a special nephew and niece, Gary and Thonya Guyton Boston.

Mrs. Guyton was born on August 22, 1924, a lifetime resident of Bartow County, she grew up and spent most of her young life as a member of Macedonia Baptist Church near Kingston, GA. Her later years and until her illness, she was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church. Frances worked and retired after several years from F. W. Woolworth in Cartersville Plaza.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, April 30, 2017 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m at Owen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017. Frances will be interred with her husband at the Georgia National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund.
