Sherry Grizzle passed away surrounded by the love of her family and the quiet strength of a life grounded in faith. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, great great aunt and friend whose unwavering influence brought comfort and warmth to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Edna Elease Grizzle (Westbrooks); her father, Homer Lee Grizzle (Red); and her brother, Harvey Lee Grizzle. The love they shared continues beyond this life, and her family finds peace in the promise of reunion.
She is survived by her sister, Shelby Grizzle-Cornwell; her nieces, Corrine Osborne and Autumn Cornwell; and her nephew, Jared Cornwell. She also leaves behind six great-nieces, one great-nephew, one great-great-niece, and one great-great-nephew, all of whom were blessed by her love and care.
Sherry retired from Southern Bell, what is now known as AT&T, where she worked faithfully for many years. She believed in showing up, working hard, and doing things with integrity. That quiet dedication marked both her career and her personal life.
She was a proud believer in Jesus Christ and never hesitated to share her love for the Lord. Her faith was not just something she spoke about, but something she lived. It shaped her kindness, her patience, and the way she cared for her family. She found comfort and strength in knowing she belonged to Him.
One of Sherry’s greatest joys was crocheting. Her hands were rarely still as she lovingly created baby clothes and blankets for the little ones in her family. Each stitch carried tenderness, and each finished piece was more than yarn and pattern. It was a reflection of her heart.
Sherry’s legacy lives on through her faith, her family, and the handmade treasures that will continue to wrap future generations in warmth. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rests in the assurance that she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
Matthew 25:23
