Thomas Craig McDow

Tom's passing was too soon, but he always lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He proudly served in the United States Army for 8 years. He was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, and Fort Stewart, where he met the love of his life, Theresa McDow. They married on October 6, 1980 and remained married for over 40 years sharing in many adventures around the world together. He was stationed in,Germany, Louisiana and Georgia.

In 2005, he and Theresa moved to Georgia to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. Tom enjoyed Alabama Football, being outdoors, cooking, gardening, fishing, going to the casinos or tending to his animals on their farm. He loved spoiling his granddaughters and spending time with them. He loved being the best father and grandfather. He was a brick mason by trade and later became a refractory brick mason. His life motto was "I will give you 110%". He loved his job. He loved adventure.

Tom had an incredible sense of humor and always wanted to make everyone smile and laugh. Tom was a very giving and loving person, always seeing the good in people. He enjoyed leaving his flowers for the mail lady, neighbors, and any others he wanted to show his appreciation to.

He was a member of Kingston Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir and attend the Men's breakfast. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his wife, Theresa McDow of over 40 years, his daughter, Astra (Stephen) Adams; grandchildren, Makenzie, Adyson and Emma; brother, Bobby Joe McDow, Jr. (Sherry), a nephew and niece and a host of cousins and aunts and many loving extended family and friends to cherish his memory.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o'clock in the afternoon until eight on Tuesday, the 12th of January, 2021 at Owen Funeral Home. Military honors will be rendered at five-thirty.
