Walter Gilbert Moore

Mr. Moore was born March 18, 1926 in Cartersville, Georgia, son of the late Wallace Jackson Moore and Lois Ethel Ledford Moore. He was a lifelong resident of Bartow County and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by sister, Imogene Tilley and Dorothy Sue Cantrell; a brother, Wallace Moore.

Survivors include his sister, Mozelle Osborne; nieces, Linda Ferguson, Jackie Costlow, Emily Armstrong, Martha Worthington, Connie Dolan; nephews, Terry Cantrell, Rickey Cantrell, Al Tilley, Steve Osborne; a number of great nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning February 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Shepard and Rev. Jack Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Terry Cantrell, Rickey Cantrell, Al Tilley, Steve Osborne, Lane Ferguson, Matthew Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers will include Linda Ferguson, Jackie Costlow, Emily Armstrong, Martha Worthington, Connie Dolan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brandon’s Chapel Baptist Church.
