Audrey Elaine Anderson Benrud

She was the widow of Dr. Charles H. Benrud who died in 2003. They were married on October 1, 1949. Audrey was born in Minneapolis, MN, on November 17, 1927, to Edward and Alice (Larson) Anderson.

She is survived by three children: The Rev. Edith B. Roberts (John M.) of Bethlehem, PA; Kurt M. Benrud (Judy) of Cary, NC; and Dr. Erik C. Benrud of Philadelphia, PA.

She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Audrey was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Cary NC, where she was actively involved in Women of the ELCA Circles, the Senior Choir, and a variety of other activities.

She was also an active member of Friends of Scandinavia, VASA Swedish lodge, and the American Association of University Women.

Audrey taught in Toronto, SD and in Lagos, Nigeria. She was both a teacher and a librarian at Broughton High School and East Wake High School in Raleigh, NC; and Cary High School in Cary, NC. She retired in 1996.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 25 at 1:30 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cary, NC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christ the King CROP Walk/Benevolence Fund.
