Branden was born December 29, 2007 at the University of North Carolina Children's hospital in Chapel Hill, NC to mother Jennifer Dewees. Born at only 24 weeks gestation, Branden was a fighter from the start. An incredibly bright and fun loving child, Branden was most known by his friends and family for his bold smile and infectious laugh. He had such a charismatic personality that it was easy for anyone that met him to instantly fall in love. Branden's favorite activity was to sit alongside his family whilst they read and sang his favorite books and songs.
Though he suffered multiple ailments including cerebral palsy with spastic dysplasia that caused him to be wheel chair bound, disabled is not a term that anyone would use in describing Branden. He was smart far beyond his years and had a passion for learning surpassing any “normal” child his age. Branden proved his knowledge, determination, and independence time and time again by mastering new talents and skills and then refusing to do them unless it was on his terms. Branden accomplished more in his short 8 years, than many will in a lifetime.
For such a small boy, Branden's personality was bigger than the stars. His family will always find comfort in their memories of him. From his grand smile and infectious belly laugh, to the dirty looks he was famous for giving when something wasn't as he thought it should be, they will always be able to look back and smile at the wonder of the child who was Branden Cameron Dewees.
Branden is survived by his mother Jennifer Dewees and twin brother Landon Dewees both of Morrisville, NC; father Robert Pawlik of Wausau, WI; grandparents Linda and Jerry Abrams of Lexington Park, MD; grandparents Lyle and Michelle Dewees of Edenton, NC, great grandparents Janice and George Timms of Homosassa, FL; great grandparents Herb and Viola Abrams of Ramsey, NJ; his aunt and uncle Elizabeth and Nik Taylor of Whidbey Island, WA, his uncle and aunt Lyle and Christina Dewees of Ft.
