Brenda and I always had fun discussing all things ACC basketball and football. We've had a lot of laughs over the years about the ups and downs of NCSU and UNC. I guess I was her adopted UNC fan. She told me one time that I wasn't like most UNC fans - I guess that is a good thing. Brenda always enjoyed participating in the Super Bowl and NCAA basketball pools I would put together. We found common ground in our general disdain for dook and both cheered mightily against them in the tournament. She had the grace not to openly cheer against UNC when she was around me - although by the twinkle in her eye I could tell she enjoyed a UNC basketball loss as much as anyone.  
Whenever Brenda would bring in food to the office (usually a cake) she would always call me or send me an email to let me know so I could be sure and get to her office in time to get some before it was gone. In fact, she brought a cake in to the office this spring, and she cut a piece and brought it to my office in person because she was afraid it would get eaten before I got any.
I'm sure I will think of Brenda every time NCSU beats UNC and how much she would love to come by my cube "just to check to see how I was doing" the next day.

My condolences to Brenda's family.  She was a very special person and will be missed.

As a lifelong friend, you were
just as beautiful inwardly as you were outwardly and to know you was to love you. If I'd had a sister, I would have wanted her to have your characteristics --happiness,kindness, genuineness,gentleness, sensitiveness
to others'feelings,positiveness
spiritualness, Godliness, just to mention a few. 
Already I miss you, my kind,beautiful, smiling, understanding friend whose sunshiny, outgoing personality lit up the darkest room & cloudiest day. We had so much fun, going to the beach, State Fair, concerts, etc., etc.,just hanging out laughing & talking. Brenda, you died much too soon but I know I'll see you again in Heaven & we can continue our laughter, conversations,& all the activities God has in store for us as He did  here on earth.

 From one " plant lady" to another you will truly be missed by many. I loved being able to talk about our plant adventures in our gardens and then watch you take that impatient plant that was stuck in a corner of your garden over winter,trim it up,give it a little nourishment and then take it to the fair and win "FIRST PRIZE". Have fun in your new garden. All my best to your family

Too soon Brenda. You will always be remembered. Knowing we will not see you at work, or hear your voice again makes me very, very, sad.

What to say to honor Brenda?  The life in her eyes, the love in her laughter, the beatiful smile on her face.... she was a beautiful person!  Her energy and zest for life were contagious.  I really miss her.  To her family:  you have the deepest empathy I can muster.  I hope that each is comforted individually, and that collectively, all that love Brenda, will find comfort in each other and their fond memories of Brenda.

To hear Brenda's laughter down the hall would make my day a little better. I always looked forward to any "food" events to see what Brenda had made.  She had a gift for the simple joys of life. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I would like to send my deepest sympathy and a message of comfort and support to Brenda's family. I enjoyed Brenda so much! I loved seeing her at work- she was so loaded with energy and personality, and seemed so much younger to me than her actual age...BECAUSE of all that energy and vitality. She was a sweet person and had enthusiasm for so many things. It may sound unusual, but anytime I needed to call her at work, I loved hearing her recorded voice stating her name- she had such a great, lilting voice... just like honey. I can still hear that voice and imagine her striding down the hallways of the office. I have been so sad about her loss and can only imagine the pain you are feeling. May God help ease your sorrow with the gift of memories. Please know how much people care and how much your loved one will be missed by her office family.

Brenda was my co-worker for 15 years.  I knew her as tidy, happy woman with a spring in her step.  She took excellent care of herself and her finances.  She was conscientious and always made sure we got our reimbursements as quickly as possible.  We all knew her loud, hearty laugh.  She could find humor in most situations, and it cheered us all to hear one of her quick laughs echoing in the hallway.  It seems so empty and quiet at work.  Brenda was always kind, and she had a coupon for almost everything.  Her descriptions of baked goods and plants demonstrated the true joy she found in the simple things in life.  I will miss her.

Brenda was always very nice to me. She was very friendly and happy, and we had such interesting conversations. I remember her face lighting up whenever we talked about college football and the State Fair.  There will definitely be something missing now from the office, and I can't imagine what is missing now from your family. My sympathies go out to the entire family. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that Brenda touched all of our lives in positive ways, and we will forever remember her.

I worked with Brenda before my retirement in December of  2005.  I will always remember how friendly she was and always with a smile..   She was always willing to help in any situation that would arise .   My deepest sympathies go to her family.  Ruth Murphy, Knightdale, NC.
